Form vs. Function

Whether it’s U-shaped, Semi-cylindrical or Full cylindrical, functional design is dependent upon the application. The size of the trough is determined based on the volumetric mixing requirements and geometric limitations of the job site. For batch or continuous mixing, key attributes include:


U-shaped

  • Easiest to clean

  • Effective for pastes or slurries
  • Reduces degradation of fragile ingredients
  • Allows for mixing of oversized materials
  • Ideal for sticky or tacky material

  • Agitator sweeps 360 degrees of rotation
  • Largest contact surface area for heating or cooling
  • Appropriate for vacuum or low pressure applications
